PRIVACY POLICY

It's not too long, promise!

Lotus Blu Book art is a small artisanal business committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of any visitors to our website. We would like to reassure you that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists or any other information you provide with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes of any kind whatsoever.

We've tried our best to cut out the mumbo-jumbo of a lengthy legal document and have put together a  Privacy Policy that is transparent, honest and well, just easier to understand.

Below you will find information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the situations under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. This may take a few minutes of your time so grab a cuppa and have a read because it's a bit important to know as General Data Protection Regulation or 'GDPR' is now lawfully enforceable.

Types of data we collect:

Cookies - Google Analytics - Mailing Lists

Cookies

A cookie is a little text file with information that a website transfers to your computer's hard disk for record-keeping purposes and allows us to analyse our site traffic. A cookie does not give us access to your computer under any circumstance nor does it give information beyond what you provide us. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies; consult your browser's manual or online help if you want information on restricting or disabling the browser's handling of cookies. If you disable cookies, you can still view the publicly available information on our web site.

Analytics

We use Square Space's built in analytics. When someone visits www.lotusblubookart.com we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site, popular items and such. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Square Space to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. To read Squarespace’s privacy policy, head over here https://www.squarespace.com/privacy

Mailing Lists

If you have ever bought anything on our website you may have noticed the Newsletter Subscription box, unlike some websites the Subscribe button is unticked, you have to tick it to get mail from us...we are not into the business of surprising you with an email without your consent, so if you do get a promotional email from us, it is because you have clicked to subscribe.

We very occasionally send out a newsletter to inform you of special offers, new products and giveaways; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses, never ever!

We use a third-party provider called Flodesk to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please click here to read Flodesk’s privacy policy.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time you like by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at hello@lotusblubookart.com.

Purchasing Data

When you purchase or order an item on our website your name, address data, email and contact number will be stored on our website powered by Square Space. If you are local to us you are more than welcome to visit our studio in person to make a purchase without supplying the aforementioned personal data. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent.

People we share your data with [ because 'Third Parties' just sounds too vague and dodgy!]

We share your name, mailing address and in some cases your email and contact number with UPS, USPS and Royal Mail purely to fulfil our shipping needs and to get your order sent to you safely. The shipping company may contact you by email, text message or phone to update you with tracking information of your parcel or to let you know if there is a problem with delivery, and honestly, that's it.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. You can do this yourself by signing into your customer account or by Email your request to Moneeza Khan at hello@lotusblubookart.com
